    Ozymandias
I'd like to know where the Egypt bit comes from. The poem says a traveller from an "antique land" but that could easily be a man (or woman) from another place such as Persia which is all but extinct now, and isnt that what the poet wants to tell us? That nothiing lasts forever?

    Ozymandias
I like how the author thinks it is important to tell us that power isnt everything. He basically says "look here, at this man, (well, statue) who knows him now? He is forgotten, as well as his tyranny"

I got the tyranny bit from when the author tells about his face, and its "sneer of cold command" and the like. I do like this poem, its a poem made to keep people humble.

    The Lily
I like how this poem talks about about the danger in things that seem innocent, but how the lily (the flower of purity, virginity, innocence) has nothing to marr its beauty.

    To His Coy Mistress
I think this man had much more luck at getting sex than the guy with the flea. he uses many pretty words and phrases, which would of undoubtly made the woman 'weak at the knees'. especially how he says he would wait many thousands of years to appreciate her beauty and her humour.

    The Flea
i like how the poet has a crack at writing in the elizabethian language, though im not sure he was too successful at it. it flows nicely and reads well. but i dont think this guy was successful in getting his lover into bed...

    The Willing Mistress
the first stanza sets the scene, with the beautiful, secluded, quiet place in the forest.

the second talks about how her and her lover pass the time.. how they share kisses and more.

I think that this woman is slighty frivolous as she does not mention love, or marriage or anything of that nature with the man. instead the poem is increasingly playful and teasing, especially with the ending "ah, who can guess the rest?" well given the fact she has given us many clues as to what they were doing leading up till when he "bore her down" and that she had no objections, there is hardly any doubt about what they did.

    Prayer Before Birth
also when it talks about the white light in the back of its mind in the third stanza, it seems to be already thinking of death, be it at the end of its life, or sooner than that.
